All Tied Up San Diego is an amazing community led by a wonderful guy that knows his stuff without being arrogant. I’ve dabbled in the rope and kink community for over 10 years and when my husband approached me about taking a 101 Rope class, I was doing it just for him. But I learned so much and enjoyed every minute. Dan teaches that it is so much more than just tying and being tied, it’s about connection and creativity. It’s not just learning the basics, it’s learning why something is done the way it is and how it can be incorporated in more advanced settings later. Always, always safety first. Whether you are new to rope, or looking to get back into it; whether you are a top, bottom, or not sure, I honestly couldn’t recommend this class and community any higher. Best thing my husband convinced me to do.
This program is very hands on and interactive, for both the top and bottom. At first I was surprised how fun it really was for me as the bottom. I thought going through the class to help my partner learn to tie I would just be standing there while he learns the basics.
WOW was I wrong!
Every week we got deeper into the sensations and the connection between partners during the tie. I was excited and looked forward to every new lesson.
This course really took my partner and I to the next level in our rope play. @DaddyBosh has gone from a complete newbie with little confidence in week one to OMG you just did that thing! We both learned so much in such a short time.
It’s not only about learning “the ropes”. IMO Dan teaches a complete kink course with so many very important valuable lessons that will help anyone play safely in the community.
This has been an amazing, thorough, methodical, well thought out and well developed course!
By joining this class you also gain access to two very important partners on your journey!
#1: Your Instructor. You will gain access to the instructor, can ask questions, even submit videos and receive feedback.
#2: The Community. You will become part of a community that loves rope and wants to see you succeed. You can make new friends, ask questions, and grow in your skills.
Rope bondage is risky. You can harm your partner and damage your relationship and reputation.
Which usually happens when the rope is misapplied, tied poorly, or someone lacks the proper understanding of physiology.
In this class you can submit your assignments on video or attend an in-person practice events for feedback. You will get help so you know that you are doing it correctly. Our students say this is invaluable to their success.
Research has shown that when you set goals you are 35% more likely to achieve the goal than if you don't.
Our classes are designed to help you succeed.
We provide both a Mission and stated goals (objectives) to help you know you have been successful!
Additionally, for each task you complete you will GAIN experience points! You can see your total growing!
One of the consistent challenges about teaching the ties live and in-person was that half the class could not see well and that is not good.
The other issue with online instruction only, is that you don't get to meet other people and it is really nice to have an instructor or T/A there to help you learn the ties.
So we have developed a system to help solve both of these issues and overall dramatically improve the quality and value of the class.
In addition to the in-depth instruction at the live class, you also get more than 90 minutes of BONUS ONLINE MATERIALS!
"So worth the investment! Dan teaches with you not at you! If you are looking for a rope bondage course this is the one to go with. Again, so worth it. Thanks!"

"I really enjoyed the class! I went into it thinking that as a rope bottom I was "just along for the ride" but the course was full of content for me, too."
Lynnie
Student - Bottom
"I don't feel like a mannequin just standing there so my partner can practice his rope skills. I had an active part in the process. I enjoyed the feel of the rope and the connection to my partner got deeper each tie we did together."

$30 per person attending the class.
Each person will be given access to the Online Bonus Materials.
As a complete “rope-as-kink” and Shibari beginner, taking the intro class was the perfect introduction to the rope world. The intro class is easy to follow, Dan is ridiculously generous with his time and skills in teaching (and correcting) the ties you learn, and you can learn some basic skills (even without a partner). I learned not only how to use and tie rope properly, but skills that transfer to other parts of kink, like negotiating and communication. I’m definitely waiting for the next class level to open up so I can continue on this journey!
You can start anytime by signing up. There are BONUS online materials waiting for you right now!
You will receive an EMAIL and be invited to our private SLACK workspace AND to the Bonus Online Materials. These are TWO different applications to bring you maximum value for the class!

We are always just a message away on Slack! So say hi and ask questions!
The beginning class was such a great introduction into the community, I felt like it went by quickly and all of the information was so appreciated!
I found this to be an outstanding course- there could not be a better introductory course for persons new to rope, as I am. Dan is an exceptional instructor- he teaches rope skills very effectively, but as important, he made me comfortable as a new learner to rope and he teaches an awareness of the importance mutual consent and respect. He is a very good teacher of effective mutual communication and consent. Dan was assisted by several outstanding associates who were very helpful in the learning process- Fairy and Spectrum. Fairy was particularly helpful to me on a one-on-one basis to understand and practice negotiation techniques.
This class is designed for those with a partner. However, we realize many of you may not have a partner.
You do not need a partner to complete the class. You will need a partner to complete the ties.
Also, we instantly get you access to the newcomers Slack application, plus the ability to attend in-person events. Being active on Slack and going to events like the Munch and Open Practice will give you access to others who are looking for a tying partner.
The Getting Started Class starts when you sign up! Yes, you have access to Online Bonus Materials instantly.
The LIVE, in-person class is on the day you sign up to attend. There are usually two options each month.
The class itself is about 1.5 hours long and will cover a lot of materials. We recommend taking notes.
The class ends, when you decide it ends. You can attend the LAB event to learn the ties, or watch the videos and do it on your own. We recommend the in-person help.
This class is 1.5 hours.
The online bonus material is an additional 1.5 hours. You can get specific help on the three ties at the LAB events, which are 2 hours long.
There is a lot to learn and we are excited to share your journey with you!
- Learn why rope bondage is dangerous and how to safely mitigate risk. So many people watch a video and then try to tie the form, without understanding the risk. You will understand the deeper things that will help you and your partner to know what the risks are and how to mitigate them.
- Learn the Stages of a rope tie. And what you need to know about each one of them to have a successful scene.
- Learn about consent, negotiation, and communication related to rope. These three things are so important and they will become more important the further you go on your rope journey. You will have a great base of knowledge to give you confidence.
- Learn how to negotiate the TOUCH aspect of a rope tie. You will know EXACTLY how to discuss how to touch or where you want to be touched (OR NOT). And you will see me do a negotiation with another person. Super cool to watch and learn.
- Learn the CRITICAL aspects of Physiology and Anatomy when it comes to rope. The body is the canvas and the body is an incredibly complex creation that you need to understand how to put rope on a body safely and effectively!
### PLUS a whole lot more . . .
Additionally, you will be given access to ONLINE BONUS MATERIALS that you will be able to access even after the class is over.
- Instruction on how to negotiate touch for a tie.
- Instruction on physiology and anatomy related to rope bondage
- Three specific ties that will give you a solid foundational starting point for doing rope bondage.
How to tie/be tied in three basic foundational ties to rope bondage. These ties include elements and processes that you use in future ties, these are truly the foundations of bondage.
And you will learn what we believe is the real secret to creating a truly memorable experience, even if you are just learning how to tie!
You will have access to the Online Bonus Materials for the lifetime of the class.
However, you must attend the in-person class to be able to attend other in-person tying events.
For the in-person class you do not need any equipment.
If you want to learn the ties at the LAB event, Open Practice, or from the videos, you can do most of the ties with one rope. However, we recommend having a minimum of two 30' hanks of rope and safety shears.
More rope is great. We recommend that you use either jute or hemp rope for this course.
Nylon rope can be used for this course, although we would recommend using POSH if you need to use a synthetic rope.
You will have the option to join our private Slack workspace.
This is the place to submit any questions and to get the answers that you seek.
Sharing your questions with the group will help everyone learn and for us to gain valuable feedback about the materials.
Joining the Slack Workspace is one way.
Joining us for the BREW/Munch event is a great way to meet people.
The best way to connect is at in-person events. Please check out schedule to see when these events will be happening.
There are no pre-qualifications to take this course.
Cost is $30 per person. Each person will be given access to the Online Bonus Materials!
Note: This online bonus material does not take the place of in-person instruction, nor does it allow you to attend in-person events with All Tied Up San Diego, without attending the in-person safety class for newcomers.
